It was ‘Bring Your Son to Work Day’ as Simon Cowell brought little Eric onto the BGT spin-off, BGMT, to meet the judges and audience.

But it wasn’t long before the little cutie was causing trouble for the show’s host, Stephen Mulhern, to the point when Stephen even accused the little one of trying to steal his show.

Simon sat with Eric on his lap during the show, and when Stephen went over to chat to the judges about the evening’s antics Eric decided he wanted his views to be heard as well – and was perfectly placed in front of the microphone.

Stephen tried to talk to him first off, asking him who his favourite act was, and whether he liked all the performances.

Eric nodded sweetly, before placing his head right in front of the microphone and making loud noises as Stephen tried to ask Simon some questions.

Everyone laughed and clapped the adorable child, and Stephen just held his hands up and said: “He’s the boss’s child!”

Stephen joked: “He’s stealing the show from under my feet!”

Simon told him to “be careful what you wish for” suggesting perhaps it’ll be young Eric to take on the presenter’s role when he gets a little older.

The head judge also put some earphones on his son at one point, perhaps to help him focus in on something other than stealing all the limelight.

The music mogul has said previously he hopes his son will take on his empire, which includes the TV production company behind The X Factor and American Idol.

When Stephen then asked whether Simon enjoyed the show being in a theatre, Eric chimed in to say: “I’m ill!”

Alesha Dixon really giggled

at that, at which point an exasperated Stephen dropped the question.

Simon Cowell has revealed that his nine-year-old son Eric is planning to audition on Britain’s Got Talent.

At his peak, Simon Cowell was the most ruthless and savage judge on TV.

And now that his nine-year-old son Eric – who Simon shares with fiancée Lauren Silverman – wants to audition for one of his TV shows, will he get the same treatment?

Whatever happens, someone is likely to end up in tears, as Simon is in the video below:

Well, it seems that Eric would very much be up for featuring on his dad’s Got Talent show – created and owned by Simon.

With spin-offs in over 69 countries, the show was even named the world’s most successful reality TV format ever by Guinness World Records in 2014.

However, the proud father, 63, admits that the idea of his son auditioning could be the ‘hardest’ thing he has ever had to deal with, calling it ‘total torture’.

The music mogul – who has previously took Eric along to filming – told The Sun: “He’s decided that he’s going to audition for Britain’s Got Talent.

“That is going to be total torture.

“I mean, of all the things I’ve ever done, this will probably be the hardest.

“I said, because he does play drums, ‘Are you going to drum?’ and he said he wants to sing.

“I went, ‘Oh God no’.

“He is really serious about it.

“I always promised him, ‘No, you stay on this side of the camera darling, stop’.

“I don’t know what it is. Maybe because all of these kids are auditioning and now he wants to be up there with his friends.”

Of giving Eric a sibling one day, Simon added: “I was thinking, ‘It would be nice to have another’.

“Being a dad is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I love every second I spend with him.

“So then I’m thinking the next step is he’s going to be a teenager.

“Those years when they’re young — I had such an amazing experience all through those years, and I was thinking about it probably because of that.

“Eric has got a lot of friends and we do a lot of things together as a family.

“But you never know with kids if they’re happy being on their own or how would he feel if there was another one?

“So look, will it happen? I don’t know. But I would love another kid. I really like being a dad.”
